Record temperature in 2018
High temperature records were broken in 2018 – again. But there-s good news: 2018 was only the 5th hottest year on record – see below ⇓.
This is a sign of a warming world, scientists have said, with anthropogenic global warming (human-caused) making heat waves more frequent as well as increasing their severity and duration.
The map below shows high temperature records set from May 1 through July 31 (compiled by Berkeley Earth) with data on temperatures on a ¤ Daily, ¤ Monthly and ¤ All-time basis.

The warmest years globally have all occurred since 1998, with the top ten being 2016, 2019, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2014, 2010, 2013 and 2005 (tied), and 1998, respectively. Click on the image to enlarge it.
