This article reports on the serious defects of pesticides: risks to human health, loss of biodiversity, in particular the destruction of pollinators, and the particularly inefficiency of aerial spraying. It exemplifies glyphosate as a case in point. The article identifies obstacles to corrective change and proposes policies which, with the growing sensitivity of governments to public sentiment as represented by civil society and NGOs, interested groups, such as pesticide manufacturers and farmers, may embrace.
